PSNI seek information on afternoon West Belfast assault

A man was assaulted by four masked men in the Hannahglen Heights area at around 2:30pm this afternoon.

POLICE IN BELFAST are appealing for public information after a man was assaulted in the west of the city this afternoon.

The incident occurred at around 2:30pm in the Hannahglen Heights area, when four masked men got out of a black Mercedes van and assaulted the victim in the street.

One of the men is said to have been armed with a knife, while another may have been in possession of a firearm.

The men later made off in the van towards the Glen Road. It is understood that a motive for the assault has not yet been established.

Anyone with information on the attack is asked to contact investigators at Belfast’s Grosvenor Road station at 0845 600 8000, or to contact the anonymous Crimestoppers line at 0800 555 111.
