In Pics: The Pulitzer prize winning photographs for breaking news

The Associated Press was awarded the prize for their coverage of the Syrian civil war.

THE ASSOCIATED PRESS has been awarded the 2013 Pulitzer Prize for breaking news photography for their coverage of the Syrian civil war.

The 20 award-winning images, captured by photographers Rodrigo Abd, Manu Brabo, Narciso Contreras, Khalil Hamra and Muhammed Muheisen are below.
