Gardaí find body of missing 17-year-old Quey Laurence

The Portarlington teenager’s remains were recovered from a river in Ferbane this afternoon.

GARDAÍ INVESTIGATING the disappearance of a Co Laois teenager have recovered the teenager’s remains from a river in Co Offaly.

The body of Quey Laurence, 17, from Spa Road in Portarlington, was recovered by the Garda water unit from the River Brosna in Ferbane this afternoon.

Quey had last been seen at about 12:15am on Saturday night/Sunday morning in the Ferbane area.

The local coroner has been notified and Gardaí are investigating the matter as a tragic incident.
