A pain worse than death as you are imagining every possible scenario. I hope that all of the grieving families and friends get some resolution.
My great grand uncle ended up in Melbourne Australia at the age of 13 during 1920s …. he decided to jump ship one day in Waterford made his way to liverpool then jumped ship there and ended up in Australia. His mother thought he had drowned as he was seen down my the quays…… months later she got a letter telling her what happened. He never came back to Ireland. He married and had family. He never saw his family again. I sincerely hope this is what happened to this chaps brother. He too decided to have an adventure…..
