Red balaclava-wearing raider threatens supermarket staff

Gardaí say a man wearing a distinctive red balaclava walked into a supermarket on Coach Road in Gorey, threatened staff and demanded money.

A MAN’S BEEN arrested and charged following a knifepoint robbery in Gorey, Co Wexford.

It happened at around 3.40pm yesterday.

Gardaí say a man wearing a distinctive red balaclava walked into a supermarket on Coach Road, threatened staff and demanded money.

He then fled the scene with a sum of cash.

A 35-year-old man was arrested close-by shortly afterwards. Cash was also recovered.

The arrested man appeared before a special sitting of Gorey District Court last night, and has been remanded in custody to appear again at Wexford District Court on Monday morning.
