Seven-year-old airlifted to hospital after rally accident

A two year old was also taken to hospital.

TWO CHILDREN HAVE been hospitalised after an accident at a car rally.

The children were injured when a car crashed through a barrier at the event near Tralee shortly after 11.30am today.

A seven-year-old girl was airlifted by the Shannon Coast Guard rescue helicopter to Cork University Hospital with head and pelvis injuries.

A two-ear-old boy was taken by ambulance to Kerry General Hospital.

Neither child is believed to have sustained life-threatening injuries.

An investigation is underway.
