Woman seriously injured after collision between bicycle and truck

Gardaí are appealing for information.

A WOMAN IN her late 30s has been seriously injured after her bike collided with a large truck in Dublin this afternoon.

The woman was injured shortly after midday when her bike was struck by an articulated lorry at the junction of Grand Parade and Ranelagh Road.

She was treated at the scene by emergency services personnel and removed by ambulance to St James’s Hospital. Gardaí said her injuries are serious. The lorry driver was uninjured.

Dublin Fire Brigade paramedics were also at the scene.

Photos of the area earlier today appeared to show the bike lying under the truck following the collision.

Gardaí completed a technical and forensic examination this afternoon and the road has since reopened to traffic.
