Here's the average price of a home in Rathfarnham in 2017

According to the latest data from Daft.ie.

THE AVERAGE ASKING price of a home in Rathfarnham is nudging close to €470,000, according to the latest figures.

Analysis by Daft.ie of all property prices in the area across the third quarter of 2017 puts the mean list price at €469,581.

This puts Rathfarnham in the upper tier of Dublin neighbourhoods for property value. Of 117 areas analysed, it is the 33rd most expensive.

And prices here are significantly higher than the capital’s overall average of €395,000.

Rathfarnham is also one of the neighbourhoods where property values are closest to their Celtic Tiger peak. Prices are currently 23.4% off the peak they reached in 2006, when the average hit almost €613,000.

At the height of the recession in 2012, they slumped to just over €292,000. Their current level amounts to a 60% increase on recession prices.

Current prices in Rathfarnham are lower than those in neighbouring Churchtown, Clonskeagh and Dundrum, but marginally higher on average than Ballinteer and Knocklyon.
