This week, Emily Woodcock’s (@mollys_vintagevibes) reading nook was our inspiration.
“A relaxing reading space surrounded with my plants is the look I wanted to create,” says Emily. “No matter how small an area you have, I think it’s possible to create this look.”
I love getting cosy with a good book surrounded by my favourite things so I wanted to create this in a small nook in my home.
“The plants give me a sense of calm, as well as encouraging the flow of oxygen. I surrounded the area with my favourite prints. I just love how prints can completely transform a space.”
Aldi, H&M and Strandfield Cafe & Florist were Emily’s main ports of call when decorating this room. Below are six high-street items that’ll help you get the look in your own home…

There’s no such thing as too many plants when decorating a space, as Emily has proven.
2. Light up hashtag, €17.49, Etsy
Emily’s hashtag sign is an old buy from Aldi, but this one is just as cool.

This print is an exact match for Emily’s.
4. Patterned cushion, €35, Harvey Norman
A cosy cushion is necessary for a reading nook.
5. Plant stand, €22, Ikea
Update an old plant pot with this rattan stand.
6. Artificial plant, €20, Jysk
If you don’t have a good track record for keeping plants alive, opt for artificial ones instead.
