Renewed appeal for information over murder of Mark Burke in 2014

The 36-year-old’s remains were found at a recycling centre in Dublin on 31 July 2014.

GARDAÍ HAVE ISSUED a renewed appeal for information as part of their investigation into the murder of a man whose remains were found at a recycling plant ten years ago.

This Sunday marks the tenth anniversary of the death of Mark Burke, who was originally from Sandyford in south Dublin. 

The 36-year-old was last seen on Monday, 28 July 2014 on Corrig Avenue in Dun Laoghaire.

His partial remains were discovered at Thornton’s recycling centre on Killeen Road in Ballyfermot, Dublin on 31 July 2014. He was subsequently identified through DNA profiling.

Gardaí are still treating his death as a murder and are continuing to investigate all of the circumstances surrounding his death.

They are appealing to anyone with information in relation to the death of Mark, however insignificant it may seem, to come forward and get in touch with them. 

Any person who may have seen or spoken to Mark in the areas of Dundrum and Dun Laoghaire prior to his death in July 2014 is also asked to contact gardaí.
