Luas and traffic delayed after reports of a gas leak in Dublin city centre

Gas Networks Ireland are due to examine the scene.

TRAFFIC DIVERSIONS ARE in place and Luas services delayed after a suspected gas leak in Dublin city.

The operation has seen emergency services deployed and Custom House Quay partially closed.

It is understood that a smell of gas was reported close to the site of construction work in the area. That required a full closure of the quay and the suspension of the Luas red line.

Those restrictions have now been lifted but Luas services are operating with up to an hour delay.

Gas Networks Ireland are due to examine the scene.
