Man in wheelchair rescued after falling onto subway tracks

The man was quickly pulled from the tracks by two bystanders.

A MAN HAS been rescued after his motorised wheelchair fell onto subway tracks.

This happened in Washington D.C. with the man falling off of the platform and having his wheelchair land on top of him.

He was rescued by two bystanders who jumped onto the tracks.

The two men managed to lift the man to safety before lifting his wheelchair up onto the platform.

According to the Washington Post, a spokesperson for the Metro said the man had fallen onto the tracks had cuts to his mouth but had no other visible injuries.

The nearest train was two stops away when the pair jumped down to rescue the man.

The two individuals involved in the rescue effort have not been identified.
