Revenue seizes 110kg of roll-your-own tobacco

An Irish male in his thirties was questioned and a file is being prepared for prosecution.

ROLL-YOUR-OWN TOBACCO with the retail value of €44,000 has been seized by Revenue’s Customs Service in Watergrasshill this evening.

Approximately 110kilogrammes of the roll your own tobacco, which could have amounted to potential loss to the Exchequer of €34,760, was seized when customs officers assisted by gardaí stopped and searched an estate vehicle.

The vehicle was also seized.

An Irish man in his thirties was questioned and a file is being prepared for prosecution.
