DoneDeal’s David O’Caoimh teamed up with Tung Nguyen from Cars Guide to test drive the all-new BMW i4.

Dave says:

“The version we had on test was the eDrive 40 which has over 335bhp and up to 590km range. The larger eDrive 50 will come with over 500bhp going to all four wheels. We have no doubt it will be a show stopper!

“To drive day to day, the BMW i4 is very similar to the ordinary 4-series. It is spacious and feels quite normal to drive when in comfort and in eco pro. Once you switch the driving mode to ‘Sport’ it’s a completely different character. It is very precise around corners – and being an EV, the power is instantaneous!

“The new i-Drive system is very impressive, and whilst it’s ever so slightly more complicated than the previous version, it is very responsive and has amazing graphic quality.”
