Road users warned of temporary closure of part of A5 due to Royal Black parades

The A5 Omagh to Ballygawley Road has been closed at Curr Road and Moylagh Road for Ballygawley bound traffic.

ROAD USERS ARE advised to expect traffic disruption across the Omagh and Mid Ulster areas today due to the Royal Black Preceptory parades.

In addition to the main demonstrations, there are also a number of annual feeder parades taking place in both areas, a spokesperson for Police Service Northern Ireland (PSNI) said.

Delays were expected from 10am in Ballygawley as participants and supporters arrived to assemble at the Omagh Road, Ballygawley.

The A5 Omagh to Ballygawley Road has been closed at Curr Road and Moylagh Road for Ballygawley bound traffic, and will remain so until 5pm.

Local diversions are in place and signposted, PSNI said.

It is expected at 3.30pm the return parade will depart from the demonstration field along Omagh Road and Dungannon Road, dispersing at around 5.30pm.

In Beragh, delays are also expected to last from 10am until the early evening as participants and supporters assemble at the Moylagh Road.

The return parade will leave at around 3.30pm and move back along Cooley Road and proceed towards Main Street, dispersing at around 5 pm.

Police will implement diversions as required for all parades in the area to help accommodate the flow of traffic and avoid potential delays, a PSNI spokesperson said.

There will be some parking restrictions along the main parade routes and organisers have asked the public to respect any areas identified for blue badge holders or where No Parking cones are placed.
