Sixteen year old boy dies after road collision in Kildare

The teenager died tonight from injuries sustained during the collision yesterday morning.

A TEENAGER HAS died this evening from injuries sustained during a road traffic collision that occurred in Co Kildare yesterday morning.

The incident occurred at around 7.45am on the Clane Road in Sallins.

A 16 year old boy was crossing the road, when he was struck by a van and was seriously injured.

He was removed to Naas Hospital and later transferred to Beaumont Hospital, where he passed away this evening.

The driver of the van was uninjured.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses who may have been on the Clane Road, Sallins or in the area between 7.40am and 7.45am yesterday morning, and particularly any motorists with a dash cam in their vehicle to contact Naas Garda Station on 045 884300, the Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
