Woman dies after being struck by van in Tipperary

The driver of the van was not injured in the incident.

A WOMAN HAS died after being struck by a van in Tipperary today.

The 39-year-old was struck by the vehicle on the Moynead Cross to Shanballyduff Cross Road at 4.10pm. She was pronounced dead at the scene and her body was removed to the morgue at Limerick Regional Hospital.

The 55-year-old male driver of the van was not injured in the crash.

The road has been closed to facilitate a forensic collision examination and traffic diversions are in place. It is expected that the road will remain closed until at least tomorrow morning.

Witnesses to the collision are asked to contact Thurles Garda Station 0504 25100 or the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.
