A MAN HAS appeared in court this afternoon in connection with a road crash which killed a 25-year-old man yesterday evening.
His motorcycle crashed into a van on the Nurney to Kildare road close to Walterstown Cross at around 6.15pm.
The male motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the van and his male passenger were uninjured.
A 35-year-old man was arrested following the collision, he appeared before Naas District Court charged with road traffic offences.
Witnesses to the collision are asked to contact Kildare garda station on 045 527730, the Garda confidential line on 1800 666 111 or any garda station.

It is very hard to resist the sheer freedom you get on a bike. But, my Christ there are so many scary moments out there from other motorists. Please look out for all other road users.
The weather this week has not helped and everyone has to stay safe and be more careful for everybody’s safety.

Sis..I drive from the sticks to work in Dublin…when I see a motorbike behind me I ALWAYS pull over to let him off….I just couldn’t have it that he might get impatient and try to pass…most are very well behaved and patient but I prefer to see them disappear safely into the distance..I’m pleased that none of my 4 have any interest in bikes.
My nerves would be gone if my two showed any interest in them myself Bro , I even get nervous when I see a motorcycle coming up behind me .
Yeah my dad told me when I was younger “come home on a bike and I’ll burn it and if you move out I’ll find where you live and burn it there” wasn’t impressed at the time but after having my own kids I know he was right and will be telling them the same.
It’s not stupid parents or bikes or cars, it’s people and their attitude to road safety that causes deaths.

Poor bikers are always the ones that pay the ultimate price on the roads!

As a bike lover and a lover of all bikers please please lads and lassys put the gear on weather it’s a 2 min spin to the shop or 2 hours trip the gear gives you a fighting chance. Guy Martin hit the ground head first at 130 mph yes he is a pro but the lid saved his life ARDI lid. Spend the cash on the gear.

I agree completely. I never leave home without hi-viz and full leathers. It’s disgraceful that this government charge full VAT on helmets and other safety gear. In the UK it’s looked upon as must have and a much reduced rate is applied. Condolences to that poor man’s family.
