Appeal for witnesses after man hit by a car in Waterford

An elderly man was seriously injured after he was hit by a car on the Cork Road in Waterford city yesterday afternoon.

AN ELDERLY MAN has been hospitalised after he was struck by a 4×4 vehicle in Waterford City yesterday afternoon.

The 81-year-old pedestrian was seriously injured when he was hit by the 4×4 on the Cork Road in the city at around 2.30pm yesterday afternoon.

The man was taken to Waterford Regional Hospital with what are described as ‘serious injuries’.

Forensic collision investigators have been examining the scene.
