81-year-old woman threatened at gunpoint by masked raiders

Three generations of women from one family were threatened at gunpoint during the robbery.

THREE GENERATIONS OF women from one family were threatened at gunpoint as a gang of men robbed a house in Dunmurry, Co Antrim last night.

The ordeal began at around 10.45pm as three masked men, two of whom had handguns, forced their way into the house in Glenfearna Gardens.

The three women inside – aged 81, 49 and 25 – were threatened with guns. The 49-year-old was then tied up.

The thieves made off with a small sum of cash in what police are describing as a “small silver vehicle”.

Detective Constable Fiona Mills described it as a “despicable act”.

“All of these women have been left understandably extremely shaken and upset by the ordeal,” she said.

I am appealing for anyone with information about this appalling crime to get in touch with police on the non-emergency number 101.
