Three men arrested moments after armed robbery in Lusk village

Three men wearing balaclavas took a large quantity of a cash from a shop in the north Dublin town last night before they were arrested as they tried to leave the premises.

THREE MEN WERE arrested moments after carrying out an armed robbery on a shop in north Dublin last night.

The three men, aged in their mid-20s and late 40s, were making off with a large quantity of cash when they were apprehended and arrested by gardaí who recovered two firearms and a car.

No one was injured in the incident.

Gardaí say that shortly after 10pm three men wearing balaclavas entered a retail premises in Lusk Village armed with what appeared to be a firearm.

They threatened staff before attempting to leave with the cash but just as they were leaving they were apprehended and arrested by detectives from Balbriggan garda station.

The three men are currently being detained under section 30 of the Offences against the State Act at Swords, Raheny and Clontarf garda stations and investigations are ongoing.
