Man charged with robbery of newsagents in Enniscorthy

Staff were allegedly threatened with a large knife during the incident.

A MAN HAS been charged in connection with the robbery of a shop in Enniscorthy yesterday evening.

The incident took place at 5pm on Templeshannon Quay.

A garda spokesperson said the man entered the shop, allegedly armed with a knife, and threatened staff before leaving with a large amount of cash, some of which has been recovered.

A 32-year-old man was arrested shortly afterwards and is due to appear before a special sitting of Gorey District Court this evening.
