Staff injured as armed men hold up Dublin pharmacy

Staff were closing up the pharmacy when they were approached by two men armed with handguns.

TWO MEN HAVE been arrested after an armed robbery at a Dublin pharmacy last night in which one person was injured.

Two members of staff were closing up the pharmacy on Strand Road in Portmarnock when they were approached by two men, each armed with a handgun.

The men threatened the staff members and there was a scuffle, during which one of the staff received minor injuries.

The two men fled the scene with no cash but after taking a watch from one of the staff members. They escaped in a dark coloured car which was stopped shortly afterwards by local gardaí in nearby Baldoyle.

The two men were arrested and are being held at Coolock and Swords Garda stations.

Gardaí have asked for any witnesses or anyone who saw any unusual activity around the pharmacy last night before the incident to contact them.
