Romanian man arrested after 56kg cannabis seizure

A ROMANIAN MAN has been arrested in connection with the seizure of 56 kilograms of cannabis in Wexford today.

The drugs, with an estimated street value of just under €340,000, were concealed in the fuel tank of a van that was stopped and searched as it disembarked a ferry arriving in Rosslare from France.

The seizure came on foot of what Customs officials described as “routine profiling”.

The man, aged 29, is being held by Gardaí in Wexford.
