Rose McGowan fired after sharing casting note asking actresses to 'show off cleavage'

The note asked actresses to wear “form-fitting jeans” and push-up bras for their auditions.

THIS IS ACTRESS and director Rose McGowan, who you might remember from her roles in Charmed, Scream, and a plethora of 90s teen movies.

Last week, McGowan tweeted a casting call notice she received that asked actresses to wear “form-fitting” clothing that showed off their cleavage to their auditions.

The tweet quickly went viral, and she was praised for pointing out the sexism in Hollywood:

As you might have guessed from her not-so-subtle hint, the casting call was for an unnamed Adam Sandler film.

Late last night, McGowan said that her agent had dropped her as a result of her sharing the note.

She seems to be taking it all in her stride, though:

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, McGowan said she was “offended by the stupidity” of the casting notice:

I was offended by the fact that it went through so many people’s hands and nobody red flagged it. This is normal to so many people. It was probably even a girl that had to type it up. It’s institutionally OK.

McGowan said she wasn’t trying to “vilify Adam Sandler”, and at the time, was not worried about losing any jobs.

They’re not going to want me in that role! That’s OK, because I don’t want to do it anyway. So there!
