The course will be run by the Documentary on One team, which has won a huge range of international awards.

AN INSIGHT INTO documentary-making for radio will be given at a training course run by RTÉ next month.

RTÉ Radio 1 has announced the return of its two-day pro skills training course in documentary-making for radio, which will be hosted by the internationally acclaimed Documentary on One team.

The state broadcaster expects unemployeed people to be able to attend a 2 day training course and pay €200 for doing so. Shows how much they are out of touch.

Would it not have been better to run a number of community based localised training courses in say parish halls. That way the unemployeed from all over the country could take part.

Are you for real??? Do you think it’s the place of the state broadcaster to run community training programmes? Who said this is for unemployed people anyway? It’s a documentary making course not an arts and craft workshop. Get a grip and for once stop bashing them for doing something that’s very good and at a great price. If you’ve ever heard the rte 1 documentaries you’d know how great they are.

RTE the Irish government’s very own PR Propaganda machine.
The white Elephant that sucks €180 million out our pockets each year, even if we don’t watch the prejudiced rubbish that they spew out??
Did you ever watch some of their Primetime debates or listen to some of their radio debates?
I thought you were supposed to have people from both sides of an issue to have a debate??
    Police State rubbish.

It’s a pity they would not make documentaries about what’s REALLY happening in Ireland

Of course they do. RFE and great in the same sentence? I think not. Overstaffed, overpaid, and over cared for..by successive Governments.

What are you talking about? Have you ever heard any of the docs and what has the staffing and pay levels got to do with the guys that create the documentaries? Stop talking through your arse and do something constructive with your time.

Well, Mr shitforbrains or whatever your username is, “something useful” would be the trimming of RTE excesses and making them funded by either the licence fee or adverts – not both.

And as for “public broadcasting” you really are on another planet. Look at RTE 2 any night of the week. Wall to wall imports.

Why does the Journal advertise RTE training courses? Do you plan to include courses from all other commercial training companies, colleges and universities too? If not, why just this one?
