Russell Brand is quitting social media

“The world is going mental.”

RUSSELL BRAND HAS announced he is quitting social media.

The outspoken TV presenter and comedian is also ending his web series The Trews – for now, at least.

Brand released the final episode of The Trews today, saying he is sick of “becoming the story”.

“I think that we’ve gone as far as we can with The Trews for now,” he said.

Brand added that’s he also taking a leave of absence from Twitter and Facebook.

Brand recently came out in favour of Labour leader contender Jeremy Corbyn.

He said he hoped to return with a “more truthful, more inclusive” product.

“We’re going to need it because the world is going mental,” he added.
