Teen who sparked manhunt jailed for having sex with 13-year-old

He fled to Ireland after the incident.

A TEENAGE SEX offender who sparked a manhunt in Ireland has been jailed in the UK.

Ryan Humpage (now 18) fled England after having sex with a 13-year-old girl on Christmas Day 2013.

He was the subject of a cross-border manhunt involving An Garda Síochána and the PSNI in April before being caught in Antrim.

At the time, Humpage was reportedly spotting in a number of counties and allegedly used various aliases including Dylan Dunne, Ryan Willington, Ryan Williams and Karl Ward.

Humpage is from Blackpool in Lancashire,

The Blackpool Gazette is reporting that a rape charge was dropped after the girl, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, and a number of other teenagers gave evidence in court.

Humpage reportedly invited the younger teenagers to a party in a house he knew would be empty. He admitted to having sex with the girl.

The Gazette quotes Humpage’s defence lawyer Chris Hudson as saying his client was an immature 17-year-old when he committed the offence.

Judge Christopher Cornwall sentenced Humpage to 18 months in a young offenders institution.

“She has been fearful of going out because she has never known when out and about she will meet one of your friends,” Cornwall said of the victim.

The court heard the 18-year-old is also serving a custodial sentence for an attack on his girlfriend in which he burnt her with a can of body spray and a lighter.
