Ryanair announces four new routes from Knock Airport

The airline will be running 14 routes out of Ireland West Airport from April of next year.

RYANAIR HAS ANNOUNCED that it is to open four new international routes from Knock airport next year.

The Irish airline will introduce four new routes from Ireland West Airport in Knock, Co Mayo to Barcelona (Girona), Frankfurt (Hahn), Milan (Bergamo) and Paris (Beauvais) from April of next year, operating as many as 20 flights per week to and from those destinations.

The new routes will deliver over 500,000 passengers per year and sustain over 500 jobs in the Mayo region, the airline says.

It will take to 14 the number of routes the airline operates out of Knock airport.

Minister for Tourism and Sport Michael Ring welcomed the announcement saying: “This is a very positive development from a tourism perspective and will provide greater ease of access to the west for business and leisure travellers from the European mainland, an important target market for Irish tourism.”
