Poll: Would you feel safe walking in Dublin at night?

There have been calls to make the capital’s streets safer.

THE STORY OF a tourist being attacked in the centre of Dublin hours after arriving in the country made headlines this week.

While this seems like a freak attack, Paul Allen argues this morning in a piece on TheJournal.ie that anyone walking down a street in Dublin at night while sober ‘will at some point be worried about their personal safety’.

He is calling for the street to reclaimed, and for the government and gardaí to act now to tackle crime.

We want to know your own experience: Would you feel safe walking in Dublin city centre at night?

Poll Results:

No (10038)
Yes (4184)
No experience of Dublin at night (1271)
I don't know (1060)
