Poll: Do you feel safe where you live?

Some residents in Dublin are calling for a new unit to be set up to tackle neighbourhood crime.

THERE HAVE BEEN calls for a new garda unit to be set up in Dublin to tackle what locals feel is a level of crime ‘never seen before’.

The Minister for Justice has stressed that she believes the system in place is working, with the number of public order offences down in two key city centre areas.

However, residents have reported witnessing burglaries, petty thefts, blatant drug dealing and anti-social behaviour regularly.
