Here's how much a home in Saggart costs in 2018

THE AVERAGE ASKING price of a property in Saggart is now just over €280,000, according to the latest figures from Daft.ie.

Analysis across all properties advertised in the second quarter of 2018 puts the average list price at €280,849.

In terms of the capital overall, this is low – the median figure for Dublin neighbourhoods is just under €388,000. But it is on a par with other areas nearby on the city’s western fringes. The average for Citywest is €260,988; for Rathcoole €292,093; and for Newcastle €277,654.

Average prices have fallen slightly in Saggart since the beginning of the year – down 1.8 per cent from Q1 to Q2. But the overall trend has still been upwards. A year ago the average price here was €271,085, and two years ago it was just under €250,000.

During the Celtic Tiger, asking prices in Saggart reached an incredible €444,579 – before collapsing to €195,490 in the recession.
