The figures from Daft.ie.

THE AVERAGE ASKING price for a property in Sandymount is now just north of €730,000, according to data from Daft.ie.

Analysis across all properties advertised for sale in the area between April and June 2018 puts the average list price at €730,022.

This puts Sandymount in the very top echelon of Dublin neighbourhoods by price. In fact, of 389 areas nationwide in the Daft.ie analysis, only four are more expensive. They are all in south Dublin: Foxrock, Mount Merrion, Sandycove and Dalkey.

In the price rankings Sandymount comfortably edges out Ranelagh (€697k) and Goatstown (€671k).

Prices in the area have risen by close to 90 per cent since reaching their lowest level during the recession. In 2012 they dipped to an average of €391,132.

However, at the peak of the Celtic Tiger the average price in the neighbourhood came close to breaking the million-euro mark – reaching €981,053 in 2007 before beginning to fall.
