AN EIGHT-YEAR-OLD boy has written to Santa asking for €100 to give to homeless people for Christmas.

The boy, Teddy Lawlor, wrote the letter asking for the money to give to those less fortunate than him this Christmas.

The letter was sent to the Ray D’Arcy Show on RTÉ Radio One by his grandmother Patsy Quinn.

It reads:

Dear Santa Claus,I would like to have for Christmas 2 things please.1. A tin of Pokemon cards.

2. €100 in an envelop to give to Father Peter McVerry so he can give it to the homeless on Christmas.

From Teddy Lawlor age 8, 9 in January.
P.S. I think I’m very lucky because I get a nice warm home and bed unlike some other people. Thanks for reading my letter Santa or elfs. Merry Christmas Santa.

D’Arcy said that he had been in contact with Teddy’s mother who said he had asked for the money on his own and it hadn’t been suggested to him.
