Owners of Savoy cinema say screen size won't be changed

Screen One is one of Ireland’s largest.

IMC CINEMAS, THE group which owns the Savoy Cinema, has responded to rumours about the building.

Rumours had circulated yesterday that the company would rearrange the layout of screen one in the cinema. The screen is one of the largest in Ireland and is regularly host to film premieres.

In statement posted online today, IMC said that while a change is being discussed, the screen will remain untouched.

“In relation to the rumours swirling regarding Savoy One, the directors are considering this change at present; however no final decision has been made.

“The screen size of Savoy One would not be affected by the change.”

A spokesperson told TheJournal.ie yesterday that a number of options are being discussed.
