Search underway for missing Co Kerry farmer Micheal Gaine

Gardaí and Micheal’s family are concerned for his well-being.

A SEARCH IS underway for 56-year-old farmer Micheal Gaine in Co Kerry. 

Micheal, who also goes by Mike, was reported missing from his home near Kenmare, Co Kerry yesterday. He was last seen in Kenmare town at around 11:00am on Thursday. 

Gardaí and Micheal’s family are concerned for his well-being.

It is understood that Micheal is a sheep farmer in the area, and his farm covers rugged terrain.

Kerry Mountain Rescue Team are assisting An Garda Síochána in a multi-agency search for the missing man, alongside a large number of local volunteers.

He is described as being approximately 5’10 tall with a stocky build, brown/grey hair and a bushy beard.

When last seen, Michael was wearing an orange woolly hat, black fleece, blue jeans and black boots.

Anyone with information on Michael’s whereabouts is asked to contact Killarney Garda Station on 064 667 1160, the Garda Confidential Line at 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.
