Question time
Why did you decide to run in this election?

I’ve looked at the profile of those who are running, and I don’t see myself, or the liberal left of Laois represented there. I am running to give everyone in Laois an option to vote for a young woman who cares about people, place, and planet. Every vote for me sends a signal to whomever forms the next Government that they cannot ignore the people of Laois who care about social and climate justice.

What do you think is the greatest issue the country faces right now?

The greatest issue facing Laois right now is that we are not meeting the demand of its people. We are not building enough social and affordable housing. We do not have accessible, inclusive healthcare for everyone, we are at capacity in mainstream and special schools and we are not protecting our nature, our air and our water quality. We need an energetic, hardworking representative with a long-term vision for the future of our county and our country, not career politicians who think only in election cycles.

What would you like your first speaking time in the Dáil to be about if you get elected?

To praise Lovely Laois; we are a county that has been long forgotten about and I believe it is time that changed. Laois has so much to offer, be it tourism, industry, a growing population of young people, our sporting, literary and musical talent. I’m a proud Laois woman, and I will use my first opportunity, and every opportunity thereafter to work for and praise this wonderful county I am blessed to call home.
