Biography

Bryan Edwards prioritises state-provided care for young and old people, childcare, and addressing housing difficulties faced by young people. He has been an active opponent of anti-immigration campaigns in Dublin. He ran unsuccesfully in the 2024 Local Elections.

Question time
Why did you decide to run in this election?

When I was selected by my Fingal branch to contest the local and national elections in 2023, I had seen my generation had been locked out of owning their own home. I also saw refugees and immigrants being used as a scapegoat for failures caused by the government's policies and I believed it was important to have someone represent People Before Profit in the area and push back against the far right's narrative.

What do you think is the greatest issue the country faces right now?

The housing and cost of living crisis. Both are directly caused by the implementation of Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael policies which prioritise developers and landlords' profits over the housing needs of people and allow energy companies to make year-on-year record-breaking profits.

What would you like your first speaking time in the Dáil to be about if you get elected?

I would call to ban vulture funds.
