Security alert in Derry after discovery of suspicious device

Police have sealed off part of a road in the city following the discovery of a suspicious device.

POLICE IN NORTHERN Ireland have issued details of a security alert in Derry this afternoon.

It follows the discovery of a suspicious device in the Aileach Road area. The area has been closed off between the Ringfort Road roundabout and Ennis Place.

Ammunition Technical Officers have been requested to attend the scene.

The PSNI said there were no further details at this stage.
