Homes evacuated after security alert in Lurgan

Police in Northern Ireland say they are currently attending the security alert in the Toberhewny Hall area of Lurgan in Co Armagh.

A NUMBER OF homes have been evacuated and traffic has been closed to a part of the Armagh town of Lurgan following the discovery of a suspicious object in the area.

The area has been closed to traffic and a number of homes have been evacuated.

An ammunition technical officer (ATO) has been tasked to attend the scene.
