This Senegalese bird might have taken a wrong turn at the Ivory Coast and ended up in Cork...

… in all likelihood though, the bird probably has an owner in the local area.

A EXOTIC BIRD has been found outside a shopping centre in Cork.

The Senegal parrot was discovered outside the the Wilton Shopping Centre in Wilton last Saturday.

The bird was found outside the Tesco entrance to the store at around 5pm in the afternoon.

Senegal parrots originate from the west African nation and are among the most popular species to be kept as pets. They are generally not found this far north in the wild.

The store wish to reunite the bird with its owner and have made an appeal for anyone with any information about the bird to contact them on 021 454 9644 or email them at customerservice@wiltonshoppingcentre.ie
