Seven arrested in Dublin criminal gang investigation

Six men and one woman have been arrested as part of a Garda investigation into the activities of a west Dublin criminal gang.

SEVEN PEOPLE HAVE been arrested as part of a Garda investigation in a west Dublin criminal gang.

Six men and one woman were arrested during a series of searches of homes and businesses today. A quantity of drugs was also seized.

The woman, 30, is being detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at Crumlin Garda Station.

A 21 year old man is detained at Ballyfermot Garda under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.

Three male aged 30, 17 and 21 years are detained under Section 30 of The Offences Against The State Act 1939 at Clondalkin Garda Station.

Two males aged 33 and 22 years were detained at Bridewell Garda Station, on foot of outstanding warrants.

RTÉ reports that the gang is suspected of being responsible for a bomb attack on the home of a Garda’s parents, as well as the importation of 750kg of cannabis and cocaine last year.
