Mexico-bound plane makes emergency landing at Shannon

Flight DE4156 was over the Atlantic, en route to Cancun, when the alarm was raised.

A MEXICO-BOUND plane made an emergency landing at Shannon this afternoon, after a technical fault was reported on board.

Condor flight DE4156 was over the Atlantic, en route from Frankfurt in Germany to Cancun when the alarm was raised.

It landed at 4.25pm this afternoon.

All 238 passengers and crew on board were declared safe and well.

A replacement aircraft is due to arrive at the airport later tonight to transport the passengers on to Mexico.
