Gardaí investigating suspected arson attack on shed storing water meters

The incident occurred at Union Place in Sligo this morning.

A SHED HOUSING a number of water meters was severely damaged by a fire this morning.

Gardaí in Sligo are investigating whether or not the fire at a storage facility in Union Place was deliberate.

Local fire services were called to the scene, gardaí said, with multiple units being used to tackle the blaze.

It is not yet known how many meters were in the storage facility.

Gardaí in Sligo town are appealing for witnesses and can be reached on 071 9157016.
