Cargo ship with nine people on board aground at River Boyne in Louth

It’s hoped that the ship will be free by 9:30 tonight.

A SHIP HAS run aground at the mouth of the River Boyne in Co Louth.

The cargo ship called the ‘Arklow Ruler’ has nine people on board.

The coast guard reported that the ship got twisted up on the banks at around 9:30 this morning.

It’s situated at the entrance to Drogheda port.

A tug boat is expected to attend to the ship at 7 o’clock this evening

It’s hoped that the Arklow Ruler will be free by 9:30 tonight.
