Man (20) shot in punishment-style shooting

The incident took place in North Belfast shortly before 1am.

DETECTIVES ARE APPEALING for information after a 20-year-old man was shot in a punishment-style shooting in North Belfast.

The victim was reportedly shot in his left leg shortly before 1am.

His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

The incident took place in the Havana Walk area.

The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service attended the scene and the man was taken to a nearby hospital.

Police are calling for anyone who witnessed any suspicious behaviour in the area, or knows anything about this incident, to contact the Criminal Investigation Department in Tennent Street Police Station on the non-emergency number 101.
