Suspect in custody after shooting on US Navy base

Two people were injured during the incident.

THE US NAVY has confirmed that a shooting took place on its base in Millington, Tennessee, this evening.

It said this evening on its Twitter account that it could confirm an incident on a navy base, called Naval Support Activity Midsouth, in Millington.

Two soldiers were injured in the incident. The base was put on lock-down during the shooting.

In the last number of minutes, it said that a suspect was put in custody, and it is not an active shooter situation.

The military base was built in 1917 and more than 7,500 personnel are assigned or work there.
