Shoppers evacuated from Dublin's IKEA

IKEA said a “technical issue” caused management to evacuate Sunday afternoon shoppers from the store in Ballymun today.

HUNDREDS OF SHOPPERS were evacuated from Dublin’s IKEA shopping centre this afternoon following a “technical issue”, a spokesperson for the store has said.

The spokesperson told TheJournal.ie that the evacuation was standard procedure following the report of a technical issue, and that shoppers had been allowed to return 15 minutes after the evacuation.

The Defence Forces confirmed that no requests for its assistance had been made.
