Three arrested after reports of shots fired on halting site

No one was injured in the incident.

GARDAÍ ARE INVESTIGATING whether shots were fired at a halting site last night.

The incident occurred at around 6.30pm at a halting site in Dungarvan, Co Waterford.

Gardaí said that it is believed shots were fired at the site.

There was no one injured, and no damage to property. RTÉ reports that it is understood that two suspects were seen getting out of a vehicle, with one person then firing two shots.

Three men were arrested under the Offences Against the State Act and can be held for up to 72 hours.

The suspects are currently being held in Dungarvan and Tramore garda stations, and the investigation is ongoing.
