LAST NIGHT, CALIFORNIA legalised assisted suicide.

The Marie Fleming case in 2013 brought the topic to the top of the Irish agenda, but so far legislative efforts have been slow.

Today, TheJournal.ie columnist Aaron McKenna argued that if he was suffering with a terminal illness, he would like the choice to end his life.

However, many see it as causing premature suicides.
